Message from the Executive Director

I want to begin this message with lots of gratitude for the amazing journey that we have been since 2005 serving the community. As many of you know, I am ever optimistic and will always be for the growth mindset even when community service/ social work is challenging, bittersweet, or sad.

With that said, I want to share the news that I have decided to work more hard and smart at my position as the Executive Director for AIPeC Kenya to reflect on how to dedicate my time not only to the community work but also use the magic of Public Relations, team work and consultation so that we can achieve our objectives as a team.

I am so proud of what we have been able to accomplish so far as an Organization, creating a stronger community throughout Kisii region and Kenya at large, and even across the globe, by supporting and creating economic opportunities for individuals/ communities to develop with limited resources but unlimited potential and impact Insha'Allah.

Food systems, climate justice and economic empowerment.

We work towards promoting economic empowerment by providing communities with the necessary skills and resources to start and grow their businesses on agribusiness, agri-nutrition, climate SMART and justice, health education, art through theatre, supporting orphans, widows and vulnerable. We believe that economic empowerment is crucial for sustainable development and work towards building an inclusive economy that benefits all members of society.

WASH, mental health and health education.

We promote social justice by advocating for the rights of GBV survivors, HIV/AIDs, AYPs, counselling, psycho social therapy, drug abuse, mental health and general health education mostly through CHVs, promoters, ToTs and health workers to communities to promote equality, effective and fairness. We believe that every person has the right to a decent standard of living and work towards achieving this, we promote access to education, healthcare, and other basic services.

Human rights and SGBV

We believe in the importance of human rights (civil, social and economic) and litigation processes mostly to minority groups, key population, people with disability, widows, orphans, adolescents and SGBV survivors, vulnerable among others towards promoting and protecting them. We advocate for the rights as well as linking them to pro-bonal lawyers and sensitization on the litigation process. we believe that human rights are the foundation of a just and a fair society.

Advocacy, governance and peace building.

We believe in the power to provide communities with the necessary skills and resources to take charge of their own development and work towards achieving their goals on good governance through public participation, citizens accountability audits, civic education, memorandum and petition drafting among other forms. We believe that building strong communities is crucial for sustainable development because without peace and good governance nothing can be achieved in our communities.

Citizens accountability audits, public participation and civic education.

When accountability functions effectively, citizens can make demands on powerful institutions and ensure those demands are met, enabling them to realize their rights and access resources. Citizen participation and accountability are intertwined, and efforts toward greater accountability can transform power relations in favor of the less powerful. By involving citizens in accountability initiatives, we can work toward a more just and transparent society.
